Disability Advocacy

The local church is recognizing the significant lack of inclusion surrounding those with cognitive disabilities. However, they do not know where to start. While their motives are pure, they do not realize that programming is not the answer to truly knowing and loving the disability community. Through my lived experience, education, and occupational background, I have created trainings for churches to begin to understand the disability community and launch their ministry.

Disability Sensitivity Training

The training I provide churches includes, but is not limited to:

Disability Terms

  • Definitions
  • Physical vs. Cognative
  • Basic Terminology and Information
  • Parents, Siblings, Caregivers

General Skills

  • Communication Styles
  • Tools vs. Toys
  • Community Care
  • Co-Regulation and Deescalation

Basics to Get Started

  • Outreach
  • Connections
  • Resources
  • Q&A

**personalized and smaller group trainings are available upon request**

By entering into these trainings, your church will be able to quickly understand that they already have the resources needed to be fully inclusive and adaptive for the disability community furthering the true desire of the Church universal.

This training includes all listed above plus the opportunity for customization. Trainings last anywhere from 1-2 hours.
